Enjoy a relaxing night out and learn how to use watercolor paints in a dynamic art lesson with gallery artist Shaun Rock. Materials will be provided, and each participant will go home with one beautiful, unique watercolor painting. Participants may bring their own food and beverages to enjoy the evening even more. Plan a constructive night out with friends and tap into your creative side.
Operation Art Rescue: Mission
The ability to create art is inherent in all people. It is essential to our makeup and an integral part of our being. Art is one of the most important ways in which people can express the experience of the world around them.
Through this series, guests will receive group and one-to-one instruction from a professional artist/educator who will guide participants through the joys and challenges that come with engaging in a creative artistic experience. All levels are welcome! Inherent artistic talent is not necessary, in fact, we cater to those who have never tried but have always wanted to participate in an artistic endeavor. Art materials – i.e., watercolor paper, paint, brushes, aprons, and inspiration - will be provided. You are encouraged to bring refreshments to enjoy while creating your personal art work.
About The Instructor: Shaun Rock
Operation Art Rescue is presented by Shaun Rock (University of Connecticut, BFA; Southern Connecticut State University, MS), a professional artist and educator who produces and exhibits fine art throughout New England. Known for his coastal landscapes and the imagery of rural Connecticut, Rock is a highly regarded art teacher who continues to nurture creative young minds as a faculty member of the Mansfield Public Schools. He exhibits his oils and watercolors as a collective member at the Silver Circle Gallery in Putnam and at the Haley House Gallery in South Kingstown, RI, as well as participates in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the region. Artwork can be seen and purchased on his website: www.matunuckart.weebly.com and on his blog site: [email protected].
Doors open at 6:00pm for a Pre-Paint Reception and Check-In
